Welcome to Deeside Scouts

Welcome to Royal Deeside and welcome to our Scout website!

We live in a beautiful part of rural Aberdeenshire, stretching from the edges of Aberdeen in the east to the Cairngorms National Park in the west: 50 miles of riverside and farmland, forest and mountain. There are no big cities here; we only have two sets of traffic lights in the whole District! On the other hand, we do have 14 bridges across the River Dee.
We have Scout Groups in seven “villages” along the valley of the River Dee (although a couple of them might be considered small towns). There is only one Group in each village, so all our Groups are labelled 1st! Five of our Groups also have Explorer Units attached. These have weird and wonderful names such as Auchlunies and Haggis Herders.
Nearly 600 young people - boys and girls - enjoy Scouting in Deeside District and numbers have been increasing every year for at least 5 years. They are supported by over 150 adult volunteers, including commissioners, leaders and administrators.
If you think you might like to join the team, please look at "Want to help?" in the menu above.
