Our Motion Picture Licence

Our Motion Picture Licence

Want to show "The Jungle Book" to your Cub Scouts?

"Gardener's World" to your Explorers?

or "Star Wars" to your Beavers?

Whenever audio-visual content, whether films or TV shows on DVD/Blu-ray, downloads, streaming, broadcast, pay TV and video on demand are being viewed outside the private home it is considered a "public performance" where legal authorisation is needed to avoid copyright infringement.

Deeside Scout District has an "Umbrella Licence" which allows any of our Sections, Groups or Units to show audio-visual material without fear of prosecution.

Remember, though, that this licence does NOT allow you to charge for admission.

For more information, go to http://www.themplc.co.uk

If you don't USE IT, you LOSE IT!

We need to monitor use of this licence to ensure that it offers value for money. Please contact the District Executive Committee (email secretary@deesidescouts.org.uk) each time you show a film or TV programme (or how many times you have done so over the last 6-months, say). If we are not aware that the licence is being used we will cancel it.
